Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Cloud Mango collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information, and the rights you have under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We keep it plain and short on purpose.

1. What personal information we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us when you get in touch. Typically that is:

• Your name and the name of your business;
• Contact details — your phone/WhatsApp number and, if you provide it, your email address;
• The content of your message — what you tell us about your business and what you need;
• Any details you later share so we can build or run your website or automations (for example, your existing website address, logo, text and images).

We do not ask for or need financial, banking or identity-document information through this website.

2. How and why we use it

We use your personal information to:

• reply to your enquiry and give you a free website audit or quote;
• build, deliver and support the website, care plan or automations you ask for;
• keep in touch with you about your project; and
• meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

3. Our lawful basis for processing

Under POPIA we process your information because you have consented by contacting us, and/or because it is necessary to respond to your request and perform our agreement with you. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the trusted service providers we use to run our business, and only as far as needed:

• Vercel — hosts this website;
• WhatsApp / Meta — carries the messages you send us when you use our WhatsApp link;
• tools we use to build and run your project, which we’ll tell you about where relevant.

These providers may only process your information on our instructions. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

5. Cross-border processing

Some of our providers (such as Vercel and Meta/WhatsApp) store or process information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted under POPIA — these providers are bound by their own data-protection commitments that offer a comparable level of protection.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it to respond to you, deliver our services, and meet our legal obligations — after which we delete or anonymise it. If you asked us for a quote but we never work together, we’ll remove your details on request.

7. How we protect it

We take reasonable, appropriate steps to keep your information secure and to prevent loss, unauthorised access or misuse. No system is ever completely secure, but we treat your details with care and keep access limited to what’s necessary.

8. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy;
• ask us to correct or update it;
• ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it;
• withdraw your consent at any time; and
• complain to the regulator if you believe we’ve mishandled your information.

9. Marketing

We will only send you marketing messages if you’ve agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time — just reply and tell us to stop. We won’t add you to any marketing list simply for enquiring.

10. Cookies & analytics

At present this website does not use tracking or advertising cookies, and does not profile your browsing. If we add website analytics in future, we’ll update this policy and show a cookie notice so you can choose.

11. Children

This website and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
